Great New Book For Puppy Owners

Life Skills For Puppies. The title says it all! This should be required reading before anyone gets a puppy/new dog. It is written by qualified individuals and is very easy to read. It provides valuable information and worksheets for specific things to work on to maximize having a behaviorally stable and psychologically healthy dog. Reading this book in sections would be a great family exercise  to get the kids excited about teaching their puppies/dog skills that will benefit both the 2 legged and the 4 legged family members! It is not overwhelming with too much information. Each “life skill” chapter is just a few pages.

It has always amazed me that before driving a car, we are expected to take tests to ensure we do not harm ourselves or others. However, at any time we can just walk into a shelter or store and get a live animal without any required knoweldge.  Reading how and what we should teach a puppy who we are taking responsibility for is the very least we should do as responsible dog guardians.
