Service Dogs

Most people know that there are service dogs to help people who have physical disabilities, but did you  know that there are also therapy dogs for individuals with emotional/psychological issues? Particularly heartwarming is knowing there are service dogs who have helped soldiers suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.  There is currently research looking into how much help they can provide but thus far there have certainly been a number of soldiers who have personally been helped by having a canine by their side.  One of the factors that will likely be looked at is whether or not a dog adopted from a shelter can do just as much good as a dog who was bred and trained to help these service men and women.
